Quick answer

The tool covers 36 countries and territories: 15 with bilateral visa exemption (Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs list, updated to 14 March 2025) and countries that require a visa and have a dedicated guide. For other countries, check with the destination's embassy. Keep at least 6 months' passport validity after you leave the destination.

How to read the result

  • Visa-free: the country has a bilateral agreement with Vietnam for ordinary passports. You still need the right purpose (usually tourism, family visits or short business trips) and must not overstay.
  • Visa required: the country is not on the bilateral list. See visas by country for the type of visa and a full guide.
  • Not in our data: this does not mean you definitely need a visa — the country may waive visas unilaterally or offer visa on arrival or an eVisa. Check its official website.
