Editorial policy and fact-checking

Passport and visa information affects your money and your travel plans. This is how we make sure every figure on this website comes from an official source and is checked again.

Quick answer

Every fee, requirement and procedure on Vietnam Passport & Visa Guide comes from an official website on our approved source list, with a link and the date we checked it. Figures are stored in one place and checked automatically every time the website is built. New pages are only indexed by search engines after the reviewer approves them.

About this website

Vietnam Passport & Visa Guide is a website of Tu Do Travel Trading and Service Company Limited (Tu Do Travel), a private company not affiliated with any government. The information helps you understand and prepare your application; it does not replace the instructions of the competent authority. Vietnamese passports are issued by Vietnam's immigration authorities; visa decisions are made by the authorities of the country you visit.

Approved sources only

The website uses 44 official sources. The list is kept in a single place in the code; adding a new source needs the reviewer's approval first. A guide citing a source outside the list cannot be built.

See the source list and the guides citing each source.

Before a page is published

  1. Research

We read the detailed official page or legal document itself and record the link and the date. News reports, forums and other service providers' websites are never used as sources.

  2. Store the figures

Passport fees, the visa-free country list and each country's official authority are stored in one place, each with its source and check date. Guides read the figures from there; nobody retypes them.

  3. Write

Short sentences and tables, a quick answer at the top and the sources under the title. Points the source does not settle go in a “Please verify” box. We never copy other websites.

  4. Automatic checks

Every time the website is built, the system runs the checks listed below. A failed check stops publication.

  5. Review

New pages carry a “Pending review” label, are hidden from search engines and left out of the sitemap. Once the reviewer has read and approved a page, it becomes “Reviewed”.

  6. Regular review

Figures are reviewed every month; anything not checked for 45 days triggers a warning. When an authority changes a rule or a fee, we update the guide.

What the system checks automatically

check:banned
Blocks wording that promises a visa outcome, published service fees and old email addresses in all content.
check:keywords
Each page has exactly one main keyword, not shared with another page; English and Vietnamese versions are paired correctly.
check:data
Figures in the data sets have the right format, an approved source and a check date; warns when a check is more than 45 days old.
defineArticle
Each guide must have approved sources, a check date, questions and answers, and an address matching the keyword map.
check:built
After the build: no broken links, no banned wording in visible text, one main heading per page, correct page language.
check:links
Checks the live website: internal links, redirects and status codes.

When the source is unclear

If an official source does not state something clearly, the guide says so in a “Please verify” box and asks you to check with the competent authority, rather than guess. Where sources disagree, we log the difference in our internal research notes and the reviewer decides how to present it.

English pages

The website is written in Vietnamese. English versions exist for the main pages only and use the same sources and the same review process.

Who reviews the content

Content is written by the Tu Do Travel team and reviewed by Thanh Lee, Chief Executive Officer of Tu Do Travel, before it is indexed. The reviewer checks figures against the sources, the wording and the notes for readers.

Information and services kept apart

  • Guides, self-help tools and questions and answers are free and enough to apply on your own.
  • We never list our service fees; we only show government fees with a source. Our help is quoted per case.
  • We do not promise or predict passport or visa outcomes, and we never suggest untruthful documents.
